Bio

Clarence L. Moorer III is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BA in Music Technology. He is a saxophonist, composer, and has experience in animation/graphic art and multimedia in general. He has had the pleasure of playing with Alabama and Birmingham greats such as the late Jothan Callins (his mentor who started him on his musical journey), Tommy Stewart, Fred Wesley, Carl Atkins, Bo Berry, Jose Carr, Jimmy Guitar Allen, Jeff Lopez, and Charlz Wilson and the Party Factory. He has performed in Germany with the UAB Jazz Combo. In Germany he had the opportunity to perform with the group Euro Jazz. As a part of the Jazz Combo he was awarded the opportunity to participate in a clinic with Thelonius Monk Jr. at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame Competition. Probably the most diverse of ensembles that one can think of, his time in the UAB Computer Music Ensemble is where he honed his synthesis and compositional skill. He is best known for his animated shorts with film score while in the CME. The UAB CME has been covered by Acedmic and local news such ABC 3340 for it's advancements in music and Tech workshops. He has been honored to sit in and perform with Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, and Willie Ziavino Y Su Grupo. Clarence has had extensive experience in gospel playing for local churches and events, and having been a part of the music ministry at Holy Trinity World Outreach Ministries,  and now a part of Bessemer #1 C.O.G.I.C. He's also had the pleasure of performing for the Dorinda Clark Cole Singers and Musicians Conference, backing Dr. Cole and David and Tamela Mann. He is an ever evolving artist and always willing to learn.
