Summary of Tunes:
"Pagbabagong"/Transitions of life. Spring 2010 UAB Computer Music Ensemble solo piece. Explored the transitions of ones life through using various musical styles: orchestral and techno. “Pagbabagong” which is Philippine for Transitions using an original audio track done in Reason and Logic Pro. This was an expansion on the idea of a group of wave forms manipulated to evolve over time using the Malstrom in Reason, creating different textures that compliment and contrast each other to build a musical piece. Now I was able to use this in conjunction with other synthesized elements with out taking away from the overall work.
"Clown to Crown". Fall 09. It depicted a clown's journey to becoming a ring master using grain table synthesis to created a sound that evolves over time by group 2 or more wave types and manipulating the with filters and envelopes.
"Fate Inevitable". Fall 08. Use of of the NNXT to build an instrument of orchestral strings and a guitar with a twang. Employs the use of samples of laughter cheering with heavy rolling bass drum sequencing and dissonant string vamps to add a sense of horror and uneasiness.
"Leaps and Bounds" Spring 10. A Latin style jazz piece with a feeling of uplift.
"Cheff Speedio". Fall08. A fusion piece using Jazz and Classical elements to depict the life of a chef using rhythmic structure to a sense of anxiousness, and layering of instrumental textures to depict the workings of the environment around the chef. It explores different melodies and harmonies to show the contrast of emotions and phases that a chef would go through on a busy night.
"Red Grass". Fall 06. An old school southern style blues with chromatic, Monk like chords.
"Circuit Trans" Fall 08. A short techno trans bit done in reason.
"Brain Spoke" Fall 08. A short high energy techno bit employing the malstrom and thor in reason.
"Battle Temperament" Fall 06. Using Digital Performer, created a piece depicting a battle scene with helicopter, and gun fire patches used percussively, backed by an intense drum section and variations on rhythmic motifs. Uses trumpets to gives sense of triumph through disaster all on a bed of nice chords to fit the mood of dark but prevailing.
"Journey To" Fall 07. A funky jazz, rock fusion piece based loosely off of "Maiden Voyage" by Miles Davis.
"Bossa" Played sax on the soundtrack of the 2009 comedy Humpday directed by Lynn Shelton http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1334537/soundtrack
